Village Fellows

  • Fellows support the Honors and Scholars Village by serving as mentors, academic role models and through facilitating village-wide activities and events. All Village Fellows mentor first-year UHP and USP student clusters enrolled in interdisciplinary thematic first-year HON seminars.
  • Fellows establish relationships with their individual clusters, as well as work with faculty members to connect classroom learning with outside experience. Examples include organizing programs for faculty and student interactions, facilitating discussion and study sessions, and fostering students’ curiosity, leadership abilities, and service to the village and NC State community.
  • Fellows also serve as positive academic role models in the classroom, modeling good habits, time management, and showing first-year students how to take full advantage of the resources and technology in the classroom and on campus.
  • Fellows facilitate programming that connects the classroom to the campus and beyond. These programs include the HSV MetaSkill Challenge, Fall Symposium, our Scholar-in-Residence “Around Us” film discussion series, Food for Thought faculty dinners, speed research and networking, service trips, and community conversations.
