Who We Are

The Honors and Scholars Village is a dynamic living and learning community that enhances the intellectual exploration and personal development of its residents. The village, a collaborative effort between University Housing’s Living Learning Initiatives and the University Honors and University Scholars Programs, offers students a wide range of educational, cultural, and social opportunities that ease the transition to collegiate honors life and help students make connections with their peers, NC State, and the world around them.

The village includes a full-time village director with research and academic leadership experience, a graduate-assistant, sixteen upper-class Honors and Scholars Village Fellows, a Scholar-in-Residence, and Village Advisory Council.  This team collaborates with the Honors and Scholars staff and faculty instructors to help ensure university-wide academic and student success.  Honors and Scholars Village residents participate in a variety of activities prepared by the Village staff including the MetaSkill Challenge, the HSV Fall Symposium, Leadership, Engagement and Academic Preparation (L.E.A.P.) and much more.  This programming complements the University Honors and University Scholars programs – often counting towards program requirements – promotes exploration, and builds community.
