The Exploratory Studies program gives first-year students the opportunity to explore all majors and minors at NC State. Students in this program will explore their interests, skills/abilities, values, and strengths to help ensure they find a major that ignites their academic passion. Students who are in the Exploratory Studies program are required to live in the Exploratory Studies Village (or another village on campus).
The village is a living-learning community where students are surrounded by and live with other students who are also exploring their academic and co-curricular opportunities. This environment helps ease the transition into college by creating a close-knit, supportive, and like-minded environment where friendship and academic development flourishes throughout the year. Take a look at the current members‘ page which highlights some of these activities.
