The Resident Mentor (RM) role is a critical component of the Living-Learning Village framework. The RMs are live-in, part-time, student leaders who strive to create an inclusive village community while supporting students in navigating the college experience through a themed perspective. Guided by the Village curriculum, RMs provide academic and personal success mentoring, connect students to campus resources, and encourage immersion in the NC State Wolfpack Family.
Resident Mentors are critical to the success of Living and Learning Initiatives achievement of the following student learning outcomes:
- examine global issues from an interdisciplinary perspective
- articulate the value of co-curricular Village connections
- explain the importance of engaging with people with diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives
- establish relationships with faculty and Village staff that support personal and professional goals
